Great character development, though a little slower than book one. My only complaint was that the first story in the series was not continued on in this storyline, but who knows, it may have been in the third, only one way to find out ...Creole was a typical bad boy and Muse's twin was everything he needs! It was a little frustrating when they were going through the whole 'inability to communicate because of our individual pasts' but they work out our in the end :) another happy ending thank you Ms. BRUHNS!

I love Grace and Creole's story! Fast paced read and always exciting! Lots of twists and turns. Great Characters. Wonderful romance and emotional turmoil. This story has it all! Looking forward to reading more from this author.

First Thought when Finished It has been to long since I have been to NOLA!
What I Loved Nina Bruhns did a fantastic job of getting you into that Louisiana mood through the setting, dialogue, and fantastic characters. I was pretty much sucked into the richness of the area and it was perfect for a romantic suspense novel. I loved Nina's usage of Cajun sayings and just about died at Creole's name Auri!
What I Liked The romance between Creole and Grace was a nice balance of sweet and spicy. You really cared about them getting together and wanted Grace to heal the hurt from Creole's past. The suspense story was a fantastic way to bring these two together! Plus, kudos for not dragging out the "mistaken" twin plot. I really enjoyed that they were getting to know each other for who they really were!
Things that made me go hmmm Nothing really but I started reading the epilogue and decided to wait until I read book 3 since it talks about Muse and Remi!
Final Thought This was a fantastic read that I am glad I picked up. It was also another free read that lead me to buy more in the series so it did it's job LOL
I really enjoyed everything about this book - for me, it ticked all the boxes. Sassy heroine, hot guy with a great accent AND he was flawed...I guess I'm just a sucker for guys with issues!
I really wanted to comment upon the author and her generosity in this review. I had read the first and second books in the New Orleans trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed both (although this second book was my fav). When I looked at the store to purchase the third book...it's not available in Australia!!!
I contacted the author to find out if I could purchase it from her directly and she sent it to me FREE - how nice is that?!!!
So, if you want to support an author who is not only a great writer but is also generous to her fans...buy these books
New Orleans Police Detective Auri "Creole" Levalois is after the murderer of his "brother" Luke, who was his only family since both of them went togethter through the foster care system. Creole knows who the killer is but can't find him since latter has decided to disappear until things calm down. Therefore Creole stakes out the murderer's girlfrind and hopes that the 'gentleman' will sooner or later visit the lady. However, the more he observes Muse Summerville, the more he's surprised to find out that she isn't as brazen as her reputation and at the same time he's shocked to find out that he feels attracted to her.
Psychologist Grace Summerville is worried about her sister Muse who hasn't given any sign of life. During their last phone call Muse told her that somebody is following her around. Therefore Grace has decided to impersonate her notorious sister in order to find out what happened to her.
Having more or less the same target, Creole and Grace will soon cross their ways and no matter how different they are the sparks will fly!
This is the second book of Bruhns' New Orleans trilogy, which is an easily read book of the Romantic Suspense category. The plot was neatly arranged and easily predictable, which doesn't though diminish the reading pleasure, provided one knows that this is perhaps a more "light" representative of the category.
Creole and Grace were likeable characters, who both had their insecurities, which made them more realistic. The atmosphere between the two of them was definitely hot and of course Bruhns offered some sizzling scenes between those two.
If you know what Nina Bruhns stands for you won't be disappointed!
I loved Grace and Creole's story. Grace was looking for her sister while Creole was looking for his brothers killer. A high school counselor and a bad boy detective. Will they find love in each other while they find answers or will pass fears hold them back. If you want to know you need to read this book. It's a great read.
The only downfall I saw for the second story in this trilogy, it really didn't have anything to do with any characters from the first book. Sure, one of the main characters from the first book makes an appearance towards the end but it would have been nice if the author touched with those characters as well.
That being said, the story of Grace and Creole was written well. The ability of both characters overcoming their obstacles and finding love during a time where they aren't looking for it speaks volumes for the human heart.
Nina Bruhns has a style of writing I am growing to like. Her stories keep my attention and make me want to find out what happens next.

You have a police detective that is a beautiful sinfully sexy man that has major issues, he doesnt even like to be touched but don't worry this undercover watch of his he is doing is driving him crazy then he meets her "Grace" and she gets him and she finally get through his past that he blames himself for and its a wonderful story! Super sexy and hot read! Get to it....
